Probate - 'Permanent address'

The probate office has asked for a 'permanent address' for my father who passed away a number of months back.
My father lived in a nursing home for the last few years, prior to that he lived in residential care and before that sometimes hospital when needing treatment but has not lived in his 'main residence' i.e: family home with my mother and I for more than 20 years due to illness. (He jointly owns the house with mother).
What is the correct permanent address for my father in the context of probate, Nursing home or our home address?
Thanks

It's the nursing home as that's where he was permanently living.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

The address is usually considered to be that of the care home or nursing home if they have been away from their own home (or it has been sold) for 6 months, so put the nursing home down as the address2

Thanks all, I ended up calling them just to be sure...a few bad experiences with incorrect fields on forms so being extra careful.1
