Returning to Work - Can universal credit help with the cost for tools and PPE?

Hi everybody.
I've been on universal credit since last year and I have finally had a job start date. I work as a skilled labourer. I returned from Australia last year where I worked for 4 years.
I told Universal Credit that I am returning to work on 10th May and I will be needing help funding for basic work tools and PPE.
Does anybody have any experience/advice with this situation?
Thank you.

Will your employer not be providing these?
What PPE do you need? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
Your employer is required to provide all PPE that you require to do your job - toe boots, hi-vis, hard hat, etc. They also need to provide such tools that are required in order for you to do your job.

Depends on the industry.vosokec said:Your employer is required to provide all PPE that you require to do your job - toe boots, hi-vis, hard hat, etc. They also need to provide such tools that are required in order for you to do your job.
Building trades & mechanics often provide their own hand tools as employees. Although, AIUI, they usually get an allowance from their employer/HMRC in compensation0
