First time buyers but also looking to relocate

Hi Guys
Husband and I are first time buyers looking for our first home. Hubbie works from home so is able to relocate with ease as he can run his business from anywhere. I currently have a job that my boss has confirmed if we relocate I can continue to work remotely from home, and maybe travel in once or twice a week.
My question is - will the mortgage lender be funny about this? We've got our AIP but at that point we weren't sure where we wanted to live at that point. Now we do, but it is 2.5 hours away from my job at the moment. I can do the job from home, and can get a letter from my employer confirming they are happy for me to work remotely. - will this be ok for the lender?
We've seen a house we love but I'm worried now they'll say no because of the location!

@emzjenks As long as the wfh is plausible, it should be fine with the right lender given that your employer is willing to confirm the same in writing. As you can imagine, what you are contemplating is quite common since covid. And to state the obvious, this is just one factor and the details in the rest of the scenario matter as well.
If you're going direct, I would definitely recommend running this past the lender before making a full application.
If you're using a broker then they should take this into account and run it past the lender prior to DIP to make sure it fits.

Thanks for this! Yes I've just emailed our broker now to confirm if the letter from employer would be sufficient for our lender. So fingers crossed it'll be fine0
