Bankruptcy rent/ bills question

I am going to be applying for bankruptcy soon & juts had a couple of questions wonder if anyone can help with?

1) We have recently moved into my partners mothers house (she has moved in with her partner elsewhere for now) and we are paying her a rental amount for her house, and we are doing a bit of painting sprucing it up for her etc. It is a lower amount then the market value for the area. As we do not have a tenancy agreement and she is family will that look bad on my bankruptcy application? We have thought of doing a simple tenancy agreement document with her but I don't really want to if I don't have to as although she knows about some money troubles, she doesn't know I'm applying for full on bankruptcy...

2) I am paying her the rent amount and my partner some money for the bills but she wants to keep them in her name for now. Will they want to see proof of us directly paying the utility bills etc or will they be happy that we are paying a reasonable amount?

Thanks in advance for any help if possible!

If you are paying rent your partners mother must give you an AST (tenancy agreement)  She must also see that she discharges all her other legal obligations as a landlord - Gas safe checks, electrical testing, deposit protection to name just a few.  She cannot avoid these legal duties because you are family.
