So this is hypothetical, my gf and I were taking about mortgages and me moving in. The problem is the current house is with the ex husband and he didn’t put in and he’s getting a percentage of the sale.
we’ve talked about buying him out, having a document saying we will put in 50/50 into this place (or a new one), has anyone got any tips for this situation?

Also i have a help to buy and this would be my first place, am I eligible for the bonus ?
thanks

Not clear what you wish to know.Is the property up for sale to pay out the ex?As the ex was married to your gf things are different. If you are looking to purchase with your gf then being clear upfront what you will do if you split up is definitely a good idea. As is what happens to the property if one of you dies. There’s no joining mortgages. The old mortgage would be repaid and a new one taken out.0
