Charge Notice recieved... need advice!

Hi all,
Today I received a charge notice from "Ace Security Services" (£60 payable, and £100 after 28 days). They state that the CN has been issued with the reason that the car was "not displaying a valid permit".
A quick background on this. I am a student who is currently renting a flat in London until I complete my studies. When I started to rent the flat, I got issued with two permits, a residents permit and guest permit, which I was told by the landlord and estate agent that this could be used as a normal permit and I would not get any fines etc. and would be basically the same as the other permit. As I live with another student, we both took one and I was using the guest permit. I have been parking with this permit since August 2020 and have has no issues.
When I got the ticket this morning I was very confused as I have my permit on display yet still received the ticket. I called up Ace Security Services and was put on hold why they investigated the reason for my ticket. They told me that they have suspended all guest permits due to some works going on (which there aren't). This now leaves me in a position where I can no longer park at my own flat (and there is no free parking round here either), I have contacted the landlord and awaiting his reply on the matter.
Anyway, Ace Security told me that they sent me correspondence stating that guest permits can no longer be used, which is a load of rubbish. I have never received any form of communication about this. I asked them to wipe the ticket due to the fact I have not been told about this change and that I had no intention of paying, where they started to get rude and told me I would continue to get fines if I parked there - and making making it clear that the phone call was being recorded so they had evidence of them telling me of the change on the phone, which I told them they don't even know my name or if I am the owner / registered keeper of the car and I could be anyone calling.
I can appeal this ticket however they are telling me that I have to provide my full name, address and to confirm that I am the person that parked the car.
I'm just wondering if anyone had any advice regarding my situation? Thank you for any help.

They told me that they have suspended all guest permits due to some works going on (which there aren't).WOW. That is not only shocking but a derogation from grant and they can't just rescind rights of residents and their visitors.
You obviously appeal and can admit to driving because it'll make no difference IN THIS CASE and looks more honest. Follow what the NEWBIES thread tells you about appealing and then try IAS even though it's a kangaroo court.
Your landlord needs to put pressure on the Managing Agents for this location, and find out what they are playing at and demand the PCN is cancelled for you and that the right to use a visitor permit is restored immediately.
ACE are ex-clampers - you don't phone up thugs. Stop doing that.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi Keith,KeithP said:@kingloghorn, any progress?
I managed to get this one rescinded after speaking to my landlord who passed it on to another director as I didn't receive any notice about the works... but nothing regarding my other two tickets - see my new thread
