Overpaid tax
Hello,
I overpaid on my income tax last year significantly and I have been told I won’t be reimbursed until November and I wish to know what I can do to speed this process up.
Last year I earnt £17,701.18 between 01/04/2021 and 07/02/2021. I started a new job in February where my gross pay was £4,500 in Feb and March (£2,250 x2). In the last two months alone I was taxed £1,575 and £1,232.20 in my previous job (Tax year 2020-2021). So in total I paid £2,807.20 for the year. My tax code was 1258L. My total income for the year is approximately £22,500.
I should not have paid much more than £1,900/2,000 tax for the year – yet I seem to have paid more than £800 over this. (In my March pay check I was taxed £1,125 on gross of £2,250 meaning my take home was £950!!!).
Luckily I have family that can support me otherwise I could’ve been out on the street following the most recent pay.
I look forward to your response (because I’ll be damned if the HMRC could actually give me one)

Do you mean 01.04.2019 to 07.02.2020?mowgli97 said:Hello,
