Tax credit debt and bankruptcy update...

For anyone struggling with the DWP and tax credits I have had an absolute mare with them.
When I first went BR then my husband went DRO they continued to take payments then requested copies of both, fair enough and then recovery ceased and I thought that was the end of it.
November 2020 for some reason they start taking money again from our joint UC account. I work but my husband has disability and out of work so money is tight. I rang DWP debt management they told me to call tax credits, I called them they said the debt now belongs to DWP and to call them. I was passed about until I finally put a complaint in with DWP and am now being dealt with by a complaints manager.
Today I've been told my debts will be wiped on monday as, shock, they were all covered in the BR and DRO as I knew and tried to that across to them on more than one occasion.
I now have to wait for a letter or phone call to discuss refunding me the payments they continued to take even though they shouldnt have. Would you ask for some compensation for being continually messed about. I have had to chase this and kick up a fuss when it should have been dealt with correctly in 2018/19.
So for anyone else having similar trouble don't give up hope and put your complaint in writing to send to them.

Yes of course, tax credit overpayments are a qualifying debt in all three insolvency options, HMRC should have known this.
