google rip off

unfortunately for me my child bought an £80 click bait app and it wasnt until later on in the day we realised what she had done.
We contacted google who then said we had to take it up further with the developer to which we have had no response from them..
We later informed google about the no response from the developer and they informed us theres nothing they could do.
Seems a bit of an expensive lesson to learn, we thought about contacting the ombusdman but as they only deal with UK companys i guess we are at a loss.
Anyone else ever experienced this unfortunate rip off lesson.

How did your child do that? Don't you have passwords set on all the devices your child uses to prevent them making purchases? and definitely don't have any payment cards stored on accounts for your child's devices.

I cant really add anything that hasnt been said except to say that it isnt a Google rip off, in fact its nothing to do with them, the app was downloaded via the Play Store and nothing else.1

You are responsible for your children's actions, not any internet site, Google, Play store, Games developer etc.
Just an other parent who has not controlled their children's access to the internet and unfortunately has not instilled in them the difference between right and wrong? What age is she?
You can easily if you do not trust your child or she is to young to understand the consequences, put passwords etc on such sites to restrict payments and do not store your payment cards with PIN numbers your child can access.
So again no Rip Off but perhaps as below?
"Anyone else ever experienced this unfortunate parental control lesson."The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon1
