in Cutting tax
To cut a long story short, I ticked the box to back date thinking they would check if there was any spare to give me.
Next thing is my wife gets 4 demand for around £230 per year.
They appear to have given me something which does not exist. The only thing is I am not seeing nearly £1000 in my account.
Wrote to them 8 weeks ago, still no response.

HMRC only check eligibility, not if it is beneficial or not.

Have you checked your personal tax account to see what it says?1

I can see a repayment of around £180. Perhaps I am being too keen, next statement comes out in June.

I received a cheque in the post and my wife received notification in the post to show a change to tax code to recover £64 in unpaid tax (due to us retrospectively removing some of her tax free allowance for previous 3 years) - both took around 6 weeks to arrive.
This tax year due to an unexpected increase in my wifes pay - this benefit is now only a small advantage. Due to the transfer of allowance, she has to pay roughly £230 MORE tax and I have to pay £250 LESS tax. As a family we are better off, but its not a massive windfall.

I made another payment for my wife so it was before due date. Now have to make sure that I get it back.
In this day and age their website should be better. They don't like you writing to them.
