Part time job - What to do
**I will explain why in a jiffy
I had recently accepted a part time 16 hours a week, night-time temp'ing job, 5 minutes up road, free car parking, on the belief this was most likely better then being on UC with the hours being that of a proper evening time job so seemed ideal to help me continue job hunting for the suitable full-time job whilst doing some work (totally aware it cuts of any potential help from UC therefore I could and would have never have guaranteed part time alone was survive-able for the very long-term) sounded at interview, weeks maybe not years or months; anyway I was told the job was being automated and so would eventually go. I have only been doing this job hours but already it has caused a nervous loss of interview/s.
I saw a week's pattern of hours to be worked this week on agency confirmation, with these bits bolded in addition (I appreciate I can be let go at any time and don't have a problem with this, I really do accept I may not be able to do the job etc and personally I am troubled if I continue and hit problems further down the line, I will be letting down the agency and the client)
The duration of this booking is: On-going until advised otherwise.
You will be paid weekly in arrears.
Notice period – A notice period does not apply as detailed in clause 9.1 in the Contract for Services.
(Think they might give me 8 hours to learn the job, which is pretty decent as matches the last two places of perm Employment.)
(Nature of work is Goods Out and Exporting, not Goods In like I thought originally.)
I was a bit disturbed to find for today, my work hours were brought forward, not a problem as a isolated one off I thought, cancelled one interview this afternoon as the times would have totally clashed - but I'm growing more concerned as now been asked to go in even earlier in the afternoon tomorrow (which means another 2nd cancelled interview, ironically I was offered an interview at 5pm even being out of work!! typical! from when spoke to interviewer ahead of starting part time job and why would I announce a job I hadn't started let alone knowingly competent in) plus the client as lovely as my new manager is, mentioned what feels like an long-term plan of me covering 2 sites in my town as I could become bored covering one site, work volume wise and they can't allow me to slope of early and still be paid like they did the last person, but what with my work times being changed like this already, I am getting worried in allowing interviews to be lost and whether I am doing the right thing long term. I wish there were CV analysts / risk taker assessor about to access what to do in these situations.
The interview I had cancelled today I wasn't so worried to lose, tomorrow's interview lose I'm so more conflicted over and then there is being unavailable to take a call expected from the interview attended last week in hearing their outcome, as working 4 hours doesn't qualify me for any break and I fear if the Employer can't get hold of me, it will be next person in line situation, especially in these times - then there is what do I say? Do I admit I'm meant to be working in a factory at night when actually really I'm simply hours in and anything can happen, **not sure a job of days really should go on a CV, 3 weeks at a push and that was against my belief, but not 3/4/5/7 days..) how can I explain as a meant to be unemployed during the day person, that actually I will be uncontactable for all of 4 hours. aargh.
I can't get involved in work time hours change Thursday as hopefully getting a second hand hoover for £30 and got to be in queue for 9am sharp!

I think you should put the job on your CV. It will explain why certain times of the day you can't be available for interview. It also confirms that you have had a work ethic, and it is reasonable to want to leave a part-time evening job for a full-time day job, so I don't see any problem with having it on your CV at the moment. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.2
