I have waxed furniture in my living room and a solid fuel burner .Every time i dust ,the wax finish seems to suck the dirt into the grain of the wood , is it soot from my fire? why does it stick to the surface and WON'T come off? Help, anyone?

Not sure but was the item, something you up cycled? I have done this and the wax is smooth and not sticky when rubbed in and then buffed. I only wet dust I don't use furniture polish , though I don't know if that makes a difference. Plus I don't have a wood burner!😕
Sorry not to be able to help more, I know some of the lovely people on here do have, plus have up cycled, so should be more help.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0
