Employment history question

Hi
I am new to this forum and have a question.
I am new to this forum and have a question.
I have been employed in my professional job for 6 months now. I’m looking to apply for a mortgage with my fiancé. He has been in his job for 3 years and been continuously employed for the last 14 years in different occupations.
Before I met him, so from 2017-2019 I was in a job that I do not wish to disclose to him. I worked as a cleaner on a very low wage.
From 2019 to 2020 I was employed as an agency worker for the NHS, which he knows about. And for the last 6 months I have been employed full time in a professional job (which he also knows about)
I do not wish for my fiancé to know about the cleaning job. And I am wondering if he will find out through the mortgage application? I am wondering how much of the employment history will be checked? And revealed to him?
Respectfully to everyone reading this, I don’t want any advice on why I can’t tell him about the cleaning job, I just would like to know the answer to my question.
thank you very very much for any response

I have never had to give any information about my job history as part of a mortgage application. They’ve only ever been interested in my current role.0

Thanks a lot. Sorry out of curiosity how long were you in your current role when you applied for a mortgage?0

I do not wish to answer this, thanks0

How are you applying for the mortgage? If this is an advised application then at some point you are both going to be talking to a broker of a bank advisor and even though they are not going to be intentionally passing your information on to him, there may be some questions you will find hard to answer accurately without disclosing more than you might wish if you are both on a zoom call together with the advisor. You don't want advice so I will not give it, other than to say, don't fail to tell the broker/advisor the truth in an effort to avoid a disclosure you'd rather not make...1

Generally I only really care about the last 12 months employment history at a push. What you did before that only comes in to it if there are concerns about where you got your money from. For example if you are on £15k a year and claim to have saved a £100k deposit then im going to ask more questions to get to the bottom of that.
If its a normal case then high street lenders on the application may only ask about current job. If you've been in it less than 6 months then expect a question about previous roles depending on the lender.
Specialist lenders may want more info but 12 months is probably as in depth as they go1 -
Nearly a decade, but my partner had only been in his a year or so and they didn't ask any questions re. job history.Ziaamina said:Thanks a lot. Sorry out of curiosity how long were you in your current role when you applied for a mortgage?
