Hi, hope this makes sense.  

I can remember in the past being able to pay for some items with points and some with money.  As long as the points balance covered the items in full.  I know that I can not part pay for an item with points.

For example, I have 2 items. 

One is £12 and the other is £25.  I have £28 of points.  

So I use the points to pay for the £25 item and my debit card for the £12 item.  

I know that I have done this on more than one occasion.   

I have not spent points in well over a year.

in store yesterday, I was told that this was not possible and I would have to do 2 transactions.  

Is there someone out there who could clarify please?  It may make a difference that it was at a self serve till.

I have only ever been able to do it two transactions as was told that points is one transaction on the till and money/card is another as the till cannot do part payment by points. 

Same online, you cant do part points part cash/card
