Barclays extra borrowing

Hi, we getting mortgage with Barclays, with 35% of deposit, for 375000 house , the house will need a lot of improvements to be done, we will have about 10 000 for that.
I was thinking to ask Barclays for  extra borrow, how long it needs to pass after new mortgage taken to approach them? I know nationwide is about 6 months. We would try to borrow extra 30 000

why not just borrow more now and keep more of your deposit?

Decided to make bigger improvements, when we got mortgage offer from lender already. Most important was to get mortgage at all as my wife is on fourlough.

Barclays furlough policy remains unchanged so if they granted the first itme then they will grant again.  As long as you were approved for the amount first time round there is unlikely to even be a further request for payslips.   I just increased a loan from 90k to 160k and changed the purchase property on a case at offer and I used the previous approved amount to authorise it.   And that one was offered 5 months ago!
