SQUINT IN EYE

Hi Folks

I have a squint in my eye from birth.

I have terrible problems when I need to look at people whilst talking them or when I go for job interviews and the usual advice is to look the interviewer in the eye when talking.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

If so, how did you overcome this?

Thank You

  • Good morning OP

There is no easy solution, you need to build up confidence, try to relax and concentrate on questions asked and ho to respond as that is what counts.   If you wear glasses, you may find helpful those reactive glasses that tun a bit darker in any daylight.

Seek confidence training and RNBI site for guidance/help.

I hope it gets better for you and good luck with the job.

  • Not all squints qualify for correction on the NHS. Some squints are rarely operated on at all for a multitude of reasons.

There are various aspects to consider from age, type of squint, direction, size, vision etc.

Would be beneficial seeing an optician for their advice.
