Will Amazon accept a return on opened air freshener items such as this?

In this case they are simple gel type air fresheners with a peel off top, each in a separate box.  I've opened 3 out of 6 of the boxes, retrieved the other 3 boxes but not not 2 out of 3 the sticky paper peel off tops, so I've put something similar over the top.

Would Amazon accept a return in that condition?

I can't use these because they gave me an allergic reaction, so I closed them after 1 hour of use.  They are supposed to last a month.

    Probably not.

They may take back the ones you never took the peel off-top from.

If it is a change of mind then think about the condition it came to you in, would you be happy getting them without the peel-off seal?

I've already mentioned these gave me an allergic reaction perhaps something which should have be mentioned on the item.

A fair proportion of sales are returned through the sale of goods act, it's all part of their business model, and I guess they must write a proportion off or sell them in their nearly new section.

However, food and health products are possible exceptions and perhaps this is included. I certainly wouldn't accept anything degradable, no.

I cant see why they would accept items that have been opened and used? You are entitled to a refund on the unopened ones in my opinion.

    No.

But you could help other people who may also be allergic by emailing amazon and telling them of your experience - how the product affected you and for that reason you're not able to use it, etc.

Hopefully they will want to withdraw this product from their warehouse.

They should also give you a full refund and ask you to send back the ones you opened, as well as the ones you didn't so they can get rid of them all safely.

They sound extremely toxic to me! Please do let amazon know how they have affected you.

Many thanks, on behalf of all allergic people, everywhere.

On a related issue, this is what happens to many returns and even new stock!

Why would they withdraw a product because someone had an allergic reaction to it?  People are allergic to all sorts of things.  Should flowers/plants be withdrawn from sale because some people are allergic to pollen?
