Provident personal credit refund

Hi. I had a favourable adjudicator decision from the FOS following my complaint about unaffordable loans. Provident agreed to settle in line with the adjudicator decision. This was way back in Aug 2020. Despite contacting provident and the FOS many times, I have still not received anything. Provident say they are dealing with the complaints in the order they were received from the FOS. This is clearly not true, as I have been told that they have settled some complaints which they received from the FOS in November and December.
Does anyone have any advice as to how I can get provident to act as they said they would do? I just feel like they are deliberately ignoring my complaint and my subsequent emails and phone calls. Thanks. DC

You can put in a complaint or go back to FOS, but it would mean a further delay of several months at least .

Better just to wait for them to get to your case.
  • No point in complaining as provident are in danger of going into administration. They are proposing a scheme to limit the amount of compensation to £50m
According to the FOS, they should still be settling claims that have been agreed with the FOS until the scheme is accepted.
I guess I can't do anything to force provident to pay out as they said they would. Just have to wait and hope. Thanks

As you had a case decided by an Adjudicator then I am afraid you have to wait, and I suspect you may well fall into the scheme of administration that is on its way. However as Provident has not settled you could ask the FOS to take the case to an Ombudsman. That will also take time, but a full ombudsman decision can be enforced via the civil courts with no need to prove your case a second time. However my suspicion is that you are unlikely to get to this stage before the vote on the scheme of administration. That will vastly reduce payouts but will probably means everyone with a valid case gets something. No reason not to ask to go to a full ombudsman hearing but I would not get your hopes up
  • Hi. Is there a cut off date for claiming. I have been a provident customer since 1997

    thanks

Which loan are you complaining about? When did it start/finish?
  • Hi.. Ive received a letter asking me to register to vote for a scheme of arrangment for refund on my old provident loans.. is this legit, it is signed Provident SPV Limited?
I'm just wary as recently had so many spam calls and emails practically every few days it seems.
