Tooth growing sideways

Options
My child (16) has a really odd tooth, we thought it was a wisdom tooth but now has what seems to be another tooth (presumably the wisdom tooth) growing adjacent to it but hasn't yet erupted from the gum.

So, the weird tooth on the bottom hasn't really erupted fully but the top of the gum is smooth tooth and the nobbly but of the tooth is growing towards the back of the mouth if that makes sense??
Another wisdom tooth above the odd one is growing at an angle with the nobbly bit growing towards the cheek but doesn't cause as much discomfort as the bottom.

Our dentist hasn't been much help and said he couldn't see a reason for the discomfort but has now referred her to the dental hospital to see a specialist.

What can we really expect to happen when we finally get to the dental hospital? I assume it would need to be taken out but I don't know how this would be done with how the tooth lies and possibly a new tooth growing adjacent to it?

TIA

We can't see your child , their x rays etc so can't comment on what May or may not be done. All I can say is be aware in most areas waiting lists for dental hospitals are very, very long so be prepared for a wait.

Thank you, I suspected that might be the answer I got, its really frustrating as I've not been allowed to accompany my child into the surgery so not able to ask any questions to the dentist. The person that did the x-ray said they hadn't seen one like it before and it was "weird" according to said 16 year old

Have you tried emailing the practice to ask the dentist directly what they think it is and what they think might be the outcome?
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
