New tax code notification

I received a letter at home a couple of weeks ago with my new tax code as I worked at home quite a bit in 2020/21 tax year.  The letter stated my employer would be notified of my new tax code but so far they have not received anything from HMRC.  Does anyone know how long it takes HMRC to send the new code to my employer or could my employer just work off the letter that I personally received?

HMRC would not have sent a new tax for 2020:21 to your employer in the last few weeks.

Do you mean a tax code 2020:21 or 2021:22?

If it was 2020:21 then you will need to wait for HMRC to review the 2020:21 tax year later this summer.  An employer cannot use a coding notice you provide them with, whether it is for 2020:21 or 2021:22.

Sorry, the new tax code they sent me a couple of weeks ago was for the 2021/22 tax year

How many times have you been paid since the code was issued?

Once as we are paid weekly.  I have notified my employer but they said they would prefer to wait until the new tax code comes to them from HMRC so they are just using the standard tax code at the moment.

Have they checked their email notifications?

Yes, nothing has been received by either email or post.
