Don't you mean cheapest way to get skin cancer?
The body tans as a protection from the harmful rays of the sun.  Tanning booths are no better.  The following is from the NHS website (including the bold)

“Sunbeds, sunlamps and tanning booths give out the same type of harmful radiation as sunlight. UVA rays make up about 95% of sunlight. They can cause your skin to age prematurely, making it look coarse, leathery and wrinkled. ... Using a sunbed to get a tan is not safer than tanning in the sun.”

Have you thought of using fake tanning creams instead?  They are cheaper than a tanning bed and I understand they are much better than they used to be.   Not like the ones I used occasionally in the 60s when I was a teenager that made you look orange

Looking at some of the young girls today, I'm not so sure they are better than they used to be.
Reminds me of the advert 'you've been tangoed'.
A friend's daughter uses them and her bed sheets are permanently stained.

It all depends on the tanning  product ,some are very good. I think the people who look tangoed!  Are either applying too much OR _ WANT to look like that!!😨 I find the older I get the more sensible when it comes to sun worship. I never have ventured out in less than factor 30 since I hit 30! And still tan well. But now I look to sit in the shade as much as possible. I wouldn't use sunbeds at all. I really worry about people using them, and think the govt should consider banning them.
