Thanks SH, I am aware of the fact I am moaning about something and doing nothing about it 😫 my reasoning is that I shall be better placed to move job come February as I will have some income from pension so if I hang on til then my choices are going to be better.

So today, it was pouring so didn’t do parkrun but waited an hour and ran to the beach instead. I am following a training program as I have previous for overdoing things and becoming injured but it’s so hard to stop and the stated mileage 😂

After that (and a shower obviously 😂) i walked back to town with DS to get him organised for a wedding we are going to next month. The usual Scottish attire organised and another thing ticked off.

I think the rest of the day will be cleaning and tidying, perhaps a cheeky takeaway later but first a nap with the cat😂

I am another who doesn’t think you are a dreary Deidre - you work in a tough role and managers being idiots is an unnecessary additional burden. If you can stick it until February then fair enough, you have a plan, but if not, then get moving now. The closer you get to the c-word the less recruitment there is happening as everyone winds down for year end (financially and energetically) so I would start the search before September if you want to have shifted before C-mas.

Are there specific things that would make the current role better or easier to bear?

Yaay for the cc payment - solid progress! 😊👏👍 And bravo on the running … I would have no issues about stopping at the recommended mileage! 😉😂

    As at 15.08.25:
    - When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £232,244
    - OPs to mortgage = £12,148  Interest saved £5,738 to date
Fixed rate 3.85% ends October 2030

    Read 50 books of target 52 in 2025, as @ 13th September

Thanks KK, I don’t think there is anything I can do to help with current role. Management made promises and have failed to deliver. The best I can do is try to reduce the stress I feel regarding it.

House is sparkling and all washing and ironing has been done so I am feeling quite organised for once😅
