Are interest rates with these cards likely to go up alot??

Hello!
I have HSBC, EGG etc credit cards, the highest interest I am paying is 15.9%
Just wondering if these interest rates are ever likely to increase to anything ridiculous like 30%??
The rates aren't on a particular deal. just their standard rates I think

hi there. Usually the interest rates for cards are really high because they are from companies who lend to people with bad credit records. There is no reason to think these companies will go up as high as you fear. Someone can put me right if I am off the mark though.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -
Egg card has just put rates up for a few on the board, mine went up to 24.9%. Think someone else had theirs put up to more. the thread is on the credit card forum.
A&L (MBNA) tried this a month or so ago, but dropped it back down when I called.0 -
