my brother died and i became the executor of his money i got a letter to pay a debt not knowing my brothers finances i paid it but now have found out the debt has not been chased for over 6 years he has no ccj as i have checked could i get the money back thanks andy

    No. The payment will have been offset against the debt.

    Although it may have been unenforceable, it was still owed.
