At the till yesterday evening when the cashier tried the code for my education discount, it didn’t work. She knew nothing about this, but I duly paid the full asking price. Looking this morning I see that Morrison’s has indeed stopped this discount, without having the courtesy to give us any warning or inform us in any way. Along with the fact that I will lose £4.50 of Morrison’s point next month when they change the loyalty card scheme, I shall be transferring much of my business to Tesco’s. Not happy at all.

The loyalty card scheme wasn't worth much anyway. 0.5% cashback. Big deal!

It used to be better when it was *Match* and More (and not only did they price match other super markets, but gave bonus points for buying certain goods, gave points for "do a shop of over £X and get 1,000 points" etc.

As all that has wound down over time, I do ask, "what is the point?"

On the "lost points", I worked out I would have to spend > £250 to get my on-account points into a fiver, worked out that wasn't happening in time, and inwardly cursed Morrisons for their idea of "loyalty" :(

Then, they sent an email offering 1500 points on my next shop, for spending at least 1p, to round up my total to over 5,000 -- so I think they must've got the message that writing "Partial points will be void in line with T&C. Points have no value untiul converted to a Morrisons Fiver" may be legally true, but annoyed people.

Check and see whether they have applied similar to you within the last couple of weeks!

Morrisons was clear that the offer for key workers was until 31st March 2021 only. The discount didn't change my shopping habits one jot - didn't use them before, don't use them now.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So much to read, so little time.

Thanks. I, and all my colleagues I know who also use Morrison's, were not aware of this as an end date. If it was publicised we missed it. I still think a reminder a week beforehand would have been courteous and a good idea. We didn't really expect it to be extended for the whole calendar year as for the NHS staff, but enjoyed it while it lasted!

No, nothing in the app that I can see.
Agree about the 0.5%, but it's the same as Sainsbury's, and, as the only supermarket which still offers 1% used to say, every little ....
