Can You Still Rent Tv's?

I remember as a child we had a TV with a coin slot on the side which the guy came and emptied once a week, I am wondering can you still rent TV's? I have a portable but you would need a set of binoculars to see it as my living room is that big

I was renting my TV through Granada then telebank and now Homebuy but they don't do straight rental anymore, just rent to buy.
I still have an agent comes round once a month to empty my meter box of £1 coins and I have been able to buy other items through them too. Hopefully I will be finished paying in the next few months.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Have you tried Freecycle at all? They have TVs on there quite often. If you're not already a member you have to join, and (I think) offer something for free before you can accept something from someone else, but it might be a way of getting a slightly larger TV without having to rent or borrow money for one."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Generally speaking TV's are dirt cheap nowadays.
I'd be majorly surprised if buying doesn't work out cheaper than renting!
Just for an example there is 21inch at Argos for £79.99! If it only lasts you 3 years thats the equivalent of renting one at £2.22 a month.
If you get 5 years out of it which should be realistic thats £1.33 a month!
Can you rent a TV for that sort of money?0 -
We bought an old CRT tv set from a friend recently because he'd upgraded - we paid him £40 but to be honest it was really just because he was a mate, I don't think the tv itself has any value (even though it is a good tv, nothing wrong with it - just out dated!) So it might be worth asking around.0

I sold my 15" lcd tv on ebay for £50 a few weeks ago image how much crt's are going for. I agree it will be cheaper buying a new one/buy a second hand, even if you have to wait a few months.0

Renting a tv is dead money... especially as they're so cheap now... we rented a 26inch hd lcd philips tv a while back for 2 years for £45 a month  Worked out at £1080 over the 2 yrs when you can buy the exact ones in the shops now for £400!!!!!!!!
Personally I would look into ANYTHING except renting.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Another site to check is Gumtree. When I got rid of my Beko 32" CRT recently it was for £35 on the basis that someone came and uplifted it (Ha ha - second floor flat so got more than they bargained for with that!). It was only about 3 yrs old and if it was anything like an old Pye 20" CRT that I had before that, they may still have it for another 17 years!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0

My sis-in-law was devestated a couple of weeks ago when she sold a TV on Ebay - a 32" widescreen Sony which had cost £600 about 5 years ago, just before everyone switched to LCDs.
She got £27 for it!!!0
