Claiming Mileage

Ive been working form home since 23rd March 2020. However on the odd occasion I had been asked to travel out to a different location. I can only claim for that mileage less than the amount I would normally travel to the office. I have been told if I work less that 40% of my time at my original office, I should be able to claim the full amount of mileage in a 24mth period. Looking back at my diary, I always work less that 40% of my time at the office. Should I be able to claim the full amount of mileage?

It doesn't work like that. See https://nixonwilliams.com/free-resources/guide-expenses-contractors/24-month-rule-expenses0
