Hi guys,
I’ve just had confirmation the charity I’m a member of the bankruptcy has now been paid in full. I’ve not submitted the application yet as they say it can take a couple of days to show on the application.

I’m so so worried, feel a little sick, and really apprehensive about hitting that submit button when it displays the fee has been received.

This post isn’t really anything to answer just probably looking for a little moral support I suppose.

Thanks guys for all of your advice and help over the last couple of weeks it has been invaluable.

    Hi there
Haven't yet been through it yet but thought I'd say good luck anyway. I am sure you'll be fine.
I usually find that in difficult situations, the worrying usually turns out to be worse than the actual process itself!
Let us know how it goes.

Since I got confirmation the fee has been paid I have gone over my application so many times, to make sure everything is on there. I did send an email to IS last week, and they reassured me I just needed to provide details to the best of my knowledge, I am sure if there are any questions they will be asked when I speak to the OR, that in itself is I think the only thing I’m worried about. Im useless on the phone, which is why I always try and speak to people via online chats if I can. I’m pretty sure I can’t talk to the OR via an online chat platform.

Yes I am sure the worrying about it outweighs the actual process and result. And yes I will more than likely wonder why I was so worried about it when it’s complete.

I was talking to a sister in law a few days ago who declared bankruptcy a few years ago and she did put my mind at rest somewhat, but still quite worried. And as already said it is probably over nothing.

Hi, I just wanted to add that I'm sure you'll be fine. I submitted a DRO 8 years ago and I worried and whittled for ages and checked and double checked and then it went and then I worried and whittled that it wouldn't be accepted but it was (I did it through StepChange and they were really helpful).

It is a scary thing but it's for the best in most cases and of course when you come out of the other side it's a chance to have a new beginning. As someone was saying on this very site a couple of days ago, bankruptcy isn't the big awful thing that it used to be.

It's really normal to feel worried and sick, I'm sure most of us who've been through similar things have been the same. I know I have. But I came out of the other end. You will too.

Unfortunately the OR isn't there to provide comfort and assurance, that's what this forum is here for!

Good luck (but you won't need it, you're going to be fine)   :)

I know the OR isn’t there to comfort and reassure, that’s the only thing I am worried about, getting an obnoxious OR

Yes, I’ll wonder why I was so worried about it once it’s over, I’ve been in debt for the majority of my adult life. I’m 42 now, it’s time to take a hold of it and get rid so I can actually enjoy life. Spend my money on myself and kids once I’m discharged, become sick of them asking for something simple and I’ve had to say no because I didn’t have the money because of that debt that needed paying.

  • I’m about to go through the same process, it is what it is. All I know is the submit button is a step in the right direction, and end to debt if you wish.

Take a deep breathe and press it, you will not regret it.
