Should we pay off the Mortgage

My spouse starts uni quite soon, cough cough a mature student. One week after she starts our endowment and with profit life assurance matures, we took it out when we brought our first home 25 years ago and kept it going even though our 2nd home was brought using a repayment mortgage. Fingers crossed we could repay the mortgage 9 years early 🙏.
Her first years student finance has been confirmed and it's quite healthy, we think this is due to having a mortgage.
Q Should I repay the mortgage or keep it going for the next three years, although reduced to practically nothing and just how small can I get it before the supplier asks me to settle it?
