    Another general argument for taking DB pensions early is that if you are at risk of breaching the LTA (either just from the DB or from a combination of DB and DC schemes), then a lower amount as a starting point can avoid this - DB percentage of LTA used is 20x the annual payment.

    Sounds like it may not be relevant in your case, but it is nonetheless a good reason in some situations.

    Bluenose the advice to use the DC pot first was excellent. It basically means deplete the non guaranteed before even considering the guaranteed.
