Do you find Basic Paye tools slow to open on computer?

Ok I should maybe have put this in the Tech forum, but figured more here probably use it and would be best to answer. I find Paye tools very slow to open on my computer, ok computer is 10 years old, has a quad core cpu SSD drive, all other applications open quicker, am I the only one here with this problem,

Yes, it takes about a minute or two to start up for me.

Have often wondered why this is, sometimes I even feel their is some sort of scanning computer going on from it, but surely there is no reason why they would want to do that. Maybe just bad programming,0

Lots of people have had this problem. It’s nothing to do with the internet or server speeds (try opening it with your internet disconnected and you will have the same problem). Thanks for replies, to be honest if this is the case for most people then there is no good reason for it, can they not program a quick slick application to open within ten seconds or so?0

Yes I find it horrendously slow, even on an employer with only one employee and only one tax year of payroll data. Basic Tools is and always has been total rubbish to be honest, and HMRC have shown no inclination to ever improve it. The only positive thing in it's favour is that it's free!0
