Cleaning milkshake off carpet - smell

Options
I spilled a glass of mango milkshake on my carpet yesterday :( I got the visible spill off with water, a bit of fairy liquid and a bit of carpet cleaner. There's still a patch that smells a bit of mango, though. Reckon that's ok to just try to clear the smell by putting on some neutradol powder then hoovering, or should I clean it more first?

Bicarb is pretty good at getting rid of smells. Sprinkle it on, brush it in and leave it overnight before you hoover again.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Thanks. I've got neutradol powder which works in a similar way to bicarb. I was wondering if I needed to clean more first, though?

Was it cows' milk?  If it was and there is still some smell, I would clean it again as milk can be pretty rank when it goes off!  I'd want it all out of the carpet.  If it was a plant milk, I'd not worry so much and probably just put something like bicarb on it.

Cow's milk, sadly :( I've given it another clean with diluted fairy but there's still a faint smell (have to have nose near carpet to pick it up).
Any other suggestions to clean with? I'm hoping it's just a faint smell left while the milk itself is gone, but of course I won't know for sure until I find out if there's a sour smell in a few days!

Have you tried washing powder/liquid?  That's what I always use on carpet.

Thanks - you mean washing machine powder?
