Halifax mortgage referred to underwritters due to notice of correction
Just wondered if someone could give me some more information. I've applied for a mortgage with Halifax. Evaluation for new house has been done. Credit score has been accepted I believe. Only thing holding me up is my application has been referred to the underwritters due to a notice of correction. This notice is literally for a 7.99 delivery charge that was overlooked on a very purchase over 2 years ago. I've asked since for the notice to be removed but this could take weeks. I had no idea it was on there. My question is now that my application is referred to the manual underwriters rather than the automated system will my application be scrutinised and picked apart or will they simply just look at the note and let the system do the rest? Also any idea how much this will delay my application? As far as I'm aware with Halifax the conveyancing team sort information such as deposits etc so this shouldn't be looked at by the underwriters.

@Bozunited94 What is the notice of correction that you put in at the time meant to explain? What is the 7.99 delivery charge showing as on the credit report?

It's showing as a missed payment. But my credit score and file are still excellent on all three agencies so I'm assuming it has little impact now anyway. I presume that if the note of correction wasn't on there it wouldn't have even been noticed.0

@bozunited94 If that noc was just for a '1' marker on your credit report, you're probably right

This is why it is generally not recommended to enter comments on otherwise insignificant events as the automated systems can't evaluate them and just kick it out for manual review where without the note it would probably have completed without manual intervention...

I didnt even know it had been added to be honest. It wasnt explained at the time. If I had known I wouldn't have done it. I've had the notice removed now but takes 7 days. I'll ring up halifax first thing Tuesday and hopefully it's gone.MWT said:This is why it is generally not recommended to enter comments on otherwise insignificant events as the automated systems can't evaluate them and just kick it out for manual review where without the note it would probably have completed without manual intervention...0
