Does anyone know if you can get paid for giving blood?

I regulary give blood every 4 months to the nhs but I was wondering if it was possible to get paid for giving blood? I do enjoy my free tea and biscuits but i was wondering if there was a way of getting paid for it.

Why would you want to, surely the idea of giving blood it to help, rather than profit from it? I would have thought it would not be possible to get paid for it in the UK, but probably the place to check would be where you give blood next time you visit, they would probably have heard on the grapevine if it were happening.

Not that I've heard. The point with free donations is that donors have no incentive to lie about their wellbeing. One of the major problems they've had in the USA is that the used to pay donors (don't know if they still do), and they ended up with all and sundry at their door, including a lot of homeless people whose health would obviously be compromised. They also took blood from prisoners: given what goes on in prisons, I would be very nervous indeed about getting a blood donation in the States.

If you need extra cash, why not be a volunteer in a medical research programme? THey will pay all your expenses.

    Cash in hand? :D
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
