Hello all, I'm unsure if this is in the correct thread so if not I apologise.
I have a tax refund being sent via cheque from HMRC but I have an online bank that doesn't accept cheque's. Can these cheques be cashed anywhere for example at a Post Office with ID etc.
Thanks in advance

Which bank are you with? Do they not allow you to pay in cheques even on their app?helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)1 -
Hi thank you for your reply, I'm with a bank called Suits Me1

Think you have two options.
Talk to HMRC and get them to send your refund by direct credit to your bank account - presumably they can cancel the cheque somehow.
Take the cheque and ID to somewhere that offers a cheque cashing service but expect to pay around 4% for the service1 -
Another option - open an account elsewhere with a bank or building society which does allow cheque deposits and doesn't even charge you for its regular services. But be careful as some require you to open with a cheque drawn on an account in your own name. A bricks and mortar bank has its uses.1

Thank you everyone for your replies going to look into opening another account I think that would be the best options0
