I noticed today that Coventry are now offering 95% mortgages. Does anyone have experience with them?
I know of a couple who have used them, but their mortgage ‘wasn’t straightforward’ which I believe was more on their side rather thank Coventrys.

Have a mortgage broker, but he acts like I’m putting him out whenever I get in touch. Considering applying for a DIP myself as there’s a property we like locally and don’t want to miss out due to a slow acting MB.

Coventry were sh*te the one time I tried to use them. But this was 2 years ago.
If this MB doesn't want your business, just find another one. But they are not just going to do a DIP unless you actually want to proceed. You dont really need one to view a property, get the MB to email the estate agent when you make an offer. Thats always been the way I did it. Don't like letting the estate agent know how much I can borrow.0 -
My resitendial mortgage is with the Coventry Building Society. I'd never even heard of them when I found their services but they were offering a 7 year fixed rate at the time which suited me perfectly. I've had no issues with them since I took out the mortgage in 2017 though it's worth noting that I've never been late on a payment or had to contact them for whatever reason. I guess I'm saying I've never had to test their ethics, except for last year when I requested a mortgage break. This was rejected because I openly admitted that I had no problem making the payments, I only wanted the break so I could pass on the benefits to my housemates (or tenants) who were struggling at the time.
If you plan on having a smooth mortgage experience (which of course you do) then I don't see why you'd have any issues with them. If you can get an opinion from someone who's missed a payment or tried to leave then this would be a great help to you.0 -
Anyone else using Coventry for their new 95% products? Interested to know if they auto refer every DIP for further checks before issuing?0

95% AIP given by Coventry
Just need to find a house now!0 -
DIP only lasts 28 days... that’s a bit short. Especially in the current climate where houses fly so quickly.0
