Ebay hold on payments received

It’s about time Ebay sorted themselves out and stopped making so much money by putting payments on hold for so long. I sold an item on 14th March, it was collected by the buyer on the same day and i had received confirmation of payment. Despite that I had to complain to Ebay before they agreed to release the funds on 31st March. Of course they had taken their fees but still held my payment. This isn’t right.

I sold an item on Sunday (28 March) evening and the money went into my bank today (31 March). No complaints from me.

Did you get paid through paypal ?
I only ask as I sold something through ebay which went for far more than my usual sale and the payment, which was made through paypal, was put on hold for either 14 days or whenever the buyer confirmed receipt of the goods. I had an email from paypal telling me this.
As it was, the buyer had arranged delivery and acknowledged receipt of the item within about 2 days so my money was released as soon as they did this.
If your case is anything like mine it's not ebay but paypal.

I've just been switched to eBay managed payments, so these were via the new eBay system. Some were via the old PayPal method and I had the money slightly quicker, it was in my bank yesterday.

It sounds like as you sold for more than "normal" they just put a hold on that payment to check it is all genuine.

Assuming you are on managed payments and didn't take paypal for a collected item then did you scan the QR code on collection and have you got your bank transfers set to daily or weekly payouts?
