Gumtree etiquette

Hi,
I’m selling an item on gumtree for the first time. Tonight I have had 2 messages the 1st asking me to confirm the price (it’s 2 items) and asking for a rough idea where the item is, I responded but heard nothing back this was about 9pm.
I have just received another message asking if it’s still available. I know this sounds silly but would you say yes to the 2nd person even though the 1st person asked first?

I’m sorry it’s a bit of a silly question but I normally sell on eBay where its the buyer who gets there first.
Any help would be great thank you

It's up to you but I would be telling the 2nd person it's still available until it has left my possession.1

Thanks for the reply, I did that in the end0

I listed an item on Facebook Matketplace yesterday and in the first hour received 6 messages asking if the item was still available. Replied yes it is to all messages, received no response from any of them! People are weird.3

I use Facebook marketplace a lot and I don’t consider anything sold until I have either the money in my account to post the item, or a confirmed day and time for collection.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I listed an item on Next Door, someone said they wanted it, they would come to collect in a day or two, No confirmation of approximate time of arrival. So week later e-mailed "Do you still want it?" "Yes" Still no confirmation of collection time/date. So last week sold it to someone else.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales1

There are some genuine pleasant buyers on FB and Gumtree. Unfortunately they are outnumbered by timewasters.
I have lost count of the variations on the theme>
"I definitely want it, keep it for me" and .............. no show.
I advertised a thermos flask for £1 > "Can you deliver?"
The best was, when I advertised a book, free to collect > "Can you post it to me?""A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
