My contract states:Xbigman said:It's probably going to be 3 weeks pay on the 21st April and then a months pay on the 21st of May. It could be the other way around and a full month on the 21st of April with the pay for the 21st of May being adjusted down to 3 weeks. The other possibility would be 7 weeks pay on the 21st of May, which is unlikely but it happens.
I'd be more concerned long term with the 'accrued day to day' part. Will each months pay be a different amount depending on days worked? And is the cut off point a set date or the end of a week?
Only your new employer can tell you.
 Darren
Your salary will amount to £xxxx per annum, and it will accrue from day to day and be paid monthly in arrears on the 21st day of each calendar month.
OK. I take that to mean you'll get a different amount each month depending on how many days in each month. When I worked in the NHS an annual salary was simply divided by 12 each month so you got the same amount each month.

The key things you need to know are
 pay period.
the days that the daily accrues to make up the month.
pay day (this one you have 21st)
the day that accrued pay is actually paid.
it varies by company, so you need to know which days work will get paid on the 21st, important for the first and last payments when you leave
A lot of companies operate calendar accrual/pay and pay near the end of the same month(last day, last Friday last Thursday etc
Some do something like a 16th-15th and pay end of same month
 etc
There may be other dates like a cut off date for overtime and expenses(could be different)
eg if you get paid for calendar on the 21st of the following month that gives them time to process any extras and th ecutoff dat might be the week before that so you can get a time sheet/expenses approved.
this is not something that should be an issue to ask if it has not been explained.

Thanks all I’ve msg them and asked. I’m on a salary set amount per year but I do need clarification around the day to day accrued pay.0

You're starting on Monday, and I always tell new starters when and how much they can expect to be paid when I meet them, which is usually on their first day. However we're small (so I get to meet everyone!): in a larger organisation you may need to go through your line manager.
I'd EXPECT a new starter to ask the question "when will I be paid for the first time?", and any others relating to how payroll works. I'd also think nothing of it if those questions were asked before someone started. Even if you love your job, very few of us are working JUST for the love of it - we need the money!Signature removed for peace of mind0
