Nationwide Mortgage Application Process

Hoping someone can shed some light for me, we applied for a nationwide mortgage on Friday and received an email Monday to say they had got our application. 2 weeks ago we had actually put an offer in on another property but had to pull out due to uncovering unexpected problems with the property so we had already started an application at that time and we received a valuation appointment on the same day that they received our application (we had to cancel all this due to not going ahead with that property) however this time around (new application) we haven’t received anything about a valuation being booked which has got us worried with how quick the last one came through, is this normal? We did think with the last application that I was super quick of them to book valuation straight away but now it has got us wondering if somethings not right this time around and that’s why no valuation has been booked yet. How long did it take for you to get your valuation appointment through?

Ours was booked nearly a week later. If you have a mortgage broker you can enquire with them or call Nationwide to find out when the valuation will take place. All the best!0

I applied for a NW mortgage on 4th Feb and the valuation happened on 9th March!! It wasn't one of those desk valuations as the valuation and homebuyers report was done by the same person at the same time.0

We have our valuation today does that mean it's already gone to the underwriters?0

@Bessant31Do you use experian or clearscore? You will see hard search by nationwide logged there when they have started underwriting. Read this on Nother thread and downloaded both today and can see they did another soft search on the day they booked the valuation but no hard search yet. Might be worth giving it a go, its free! You kindly commented on my other post so looks like we are at a similar stage0

Been 1 week since mortgage application was submitted then got a text to say valuation was booked for the 14th, I haven't had a hard search done only a soft one atm, so not sure If it has been to the underwriters yet but most say valuation is done after underwriters, who knows its just gone quiet atm.

@Bessant31 I think it is currently 6 working days on average for documents to be checked so we should see something happen this week hopefully!0
