I am considering buying some outdoor equipment from Aliexpress to be delivered in UK.

Cost of item inc postage is £132.00

Will i have to pay VAT when it arrives and Post office fees?

For items up to £135 pre tax price non UK suppliers should follow HMRC UK VAT rules introduced 01/01/21 & charge UK VAT (having already registered their business for VAT with HMRC) and then remit the UK VAT to HMRC with no further VAT for you to pay when the goods arrive in the UK (assuming the goods arrive with all the correct paperwork).  See  Changes to VAT treatment of overseas goods sold to customers from 1 January 2021 - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

You should see the price going up around a 20% when you almost buy the item.

Correct. VAT will be added at checkout. Since it's under £135, there should be no import duty payable at delivery.

It depends on whether you are lucky or unlucky.

No. If VAT is paid at the point of sale then it will not be charged again on importation.

I can confirm VAT was added at checkout on Aliexpress. I made purchase today as they have 11th anniversary sale started today.
