Hi everyone,
We are considering a roofspace conversion, or rather more a room in the roof, nothing fancy, one room and a toilet most likely. We are a 1950s bungalow which we extended recently. Would be need planning permission and architect or would a good builder enough?

You'll need plans approved by building control so an Architect and an Engineer definitely.0

You'll also need planning

In most situations you won't. Provided it meets certain criteria (size, height etc) a loft conversion is considered permitted development.

Building control certainly? Especially if a toilet is involved. The local authority would be able to answer questions on that, I suspect.
