Will taking out credit for internet package affect mortgage completion?

Options
I've been told by my mortgage advisor not to take out any credit between mortgage application and completion, as a final credit check might be done immediately before completion. I'd like to buy internet before completion so that this can be set up sooner, but it is a credit application as it's monthly instalments and it says I have to tick a box to allow them to do a hard credit check. I contacted the lender and they've said it would depend on the case, but a hard check could be flagged up. I contacted mortgage advisor again and she said it's unlikely this would affect completion because the lender would see it as essential outgoings, but to wait if I wanted to be extra cautious. Not sure what to do as I don't want to risk anything being delayed at completion. Does anyone have any insight? Thank you.

I don’t have any insight as such, but I heard similar to you and our mortgage advisor said that it is an essential outgoing so would be fine. We did therefore go ahead as I needed it installed for working from home, and it was fine. Nothing was flagged up before we completed.
