Mortgages abroad

Does anyone have any advice regarding getting a mortgage abroad? We are looking to buy in the Seychelles where my mum is from but at 79 she is too ‘mature’ to get a mortgage so we want to do it for her. Can you get a mortgage in uk to buy out there? We own our own home here (mortgaged) ...have no clues personally. Any help given would be appreciated

@sleepyk I have had clients with similar needs who used a further advance or a capital raise remortgage to raise the funds needed and make an outright cash purchase overseas (Asia and Africa as far as I can remember). You just need sufficient equity in your property and a lender who is ok to lend for that reason).
I have no idea how expensive/cheap properties are in the Seychelles so this may not work for you.
I'm pretty sure there's no mainstream option that will allow you to take out a mortgage in the UK to buy a property in Seychelles.I am a Mortgage Adviser - You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I remember being at a conference and there was a company called Conti who did mortgages for properties abroad. I have no idea how good/bad they are and it is definitely not a recommendation, but it is quite a specialist broker you will need as they will have access to products normal brokers do not.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
