Resigning with paternity leave during notice period

I’ve just been offered a job (previous thread about hospitality job, thanks all for input as I negotiated less responsibilities and higher salary!) and my new employer is flexible with my start date due to me and my wife expecting our 2nd baby.
Now I’m currently furloughed in my job, they are looking to open back up and have me at work from 17th May. The due date for the new baby is 12th June and I have the benefit of 2 weeks full paternity pay from my old employer, I wouldn’t be able to even qualify for statutory paternity pay from the new employer so financially I need to stay with my old employer for the 2 weeks paid leave.
I know that babies and births are unpredictable but I am considering handing in my (4 weeks) notice 1 or 2 weeks before the baby’s due date or as soon as the baby is born if they are early. I think it’s unlikely
that my wife will be left beyond 1 week overdue because of previous c-section and her age = high risk.
that my wife will be left beyond 1 week overdue because of previous c-section and her age = high risk.
My question is basically: can my employer revoke my upcoming paternity leave/pay if I hand in my notice? (I fully accept that I could lose some/all of the leave if the baby is late.)

You're entitled to pay in full if you're on paternity leave even if you hand in your notice. It might be worth just chatting to your employer, giving them the heads up you're leaving and asking them if they'll accept 2 weeks notice once you find out when the baby is coming. If not, you don't lose anything and just hand your 4 week notice in as planned.0

I may be missing something but how would 2 weeks notice help the OP? They will be unemployed by the time the baby arrives and therefore not entitled to paternity leave won't they?
