How likely will we get approved for a joint mortgage application?

Hi all, need some advice: If me and my girlfriend do a joint application for a mortgage, how likely are we going to be approved?

So I earn £32k and she earns around £28k, combined salary of £60k. The current main outgoings per month combined between us are the following:

  • Car payment of £280 a month
  • Credit cards approx £40 a month
  • Priority bills around £120
  • Current rent of £600

How likely are we to get approved to get a decent mortgage together?

Thanks guys

@Scofield448 How much are you looking to borrow, what deposit do you have, any adverse history on your credit reports, what employment, etc etc will all have an impact on your chances.

  • We have a deposit saved up together of around £15k at the moment but we want to push that to £20k later in the year. Probably for a house worth between £180-£220k ish

@Scofield448 60k basic income, looking to borrow 200k, 10% deposit and the expenses listed - affordablity should be fine.

If you have a clean credit history, then there's nothing obvious that looks like it may be a problem.
