Hi all, 2.5 years ago when I went BR this forum was amazing and helped me every step of the way, so thank you all.
here I am 2.5 years discharged and want to start saving for a mortgage, both myself and my husband have had promotions and have more disposable incomes than we’ve had for our whole married lives and now’s the time to start putting the cash away with a view to moving in the next year. So can anyone hit me up with any advice or banks to avoid!?
TIA

It's great to get started saving and I suggest you look at the different regular savers to start as they typically pay higher interest. A note of caution though when it comes to getting a mortgage before 6 years post discharge so will need to approach a more specialist lender and may face a higher interest rate.0

Thank you for your reply, yeah we’ve already seen that, we’ve already been given a MiP but it’s a rate of 8.4% in all honesty we never even expected that so it’s given up a kick up the backside as to where we want to be and a timescale to do it.
looks like Coventry building society has the best interest rate and its pay day next week so best get moving.Thank you0 -
