I'm genuinely surprised that the important documents to collect debt have not, it would appear, been retained.

"unfortunately, the original creditor has confirmed they are unable to comply with your request".
You might disagree with the unfortunately bit.1 -
Good news for you! Which creditor is this for (I’m waiting for the same thing from link for a barclaycard). When they say that it remains collectable and they can register defaults - surely they can’t if it’s dropped off your credit file? They can’t go for a CCJ either can they as it’s not enforceable? Do you plan to just stop paying now?1

The letter from Link above on 23 march relates to that one and MBNA.
Thats correct. They can't put it back on the credit file. Its all mind games.
I will keep them informed of my address in case they try a sneaky CCJ application. Not expecting that tbh.
Yes. No payments from now on.1 -
@runforlife I am quite literally a few steps behind you, I had an identical letter to the one that you posted from link today. Have you heard anything more from them since you got your letter and stopped paying them? Have they contacted you to ask for payments?0

As far as Link are concerned they have written to provide the MBNA agreement (which was the lowest amount) and written to ask for a budget breakdown. I made a settlement offer of 30% which was refused but they offered about 65%. I intend to write to them to offer a small payment but not include a full budget breakdown and go back in a few months with a further final offer. I haven't paid towards the Barclaycard one and fingers crossed, heard nothing more yet.tayajade said:@runforlife I am quite literally a few steps behind you, I had an identical letter to the one that you posted from link today.
