How can they do spectacles with add-ons for £6? Where are they made? Are they using sweat shop labour? I need new glasses and want to cut costs, but not if it is morally questionable.

Are you talking about select specs? They're the top result for £6 glasses. Glancing at their faq, it seems like their main lab is in Kent, but have other labs in Hong Kong and China - which may have fair working conditions or may be horrible.

Edited to add: Most high street glasses chains have either lenses, frames or both made abroad now. Paying more doesn't mean it's necessarily more ethically produced.

Google a lab/optician that makes them on sight, there must be some.  They may start from around 150 pounds but would put your mind at rest.
