Did You Buy B&Q Christmas Lights Last Year

Hi All
Been debating where to post this.......freebies / shop drop / rants etc......
I bought some Xmas lights from B&Q in the post Xmas sales last year, some were the "non-replaceable" bulbs i.e. when they fail - you got to buy a new set of lights, others were replaceable bulbs (80 x Golf ball indoor / outdoor sets)......
Anyway - put the golf balls up today unfortunately broke 1 of the bulbs so replaced them but decided to see if I could get a couple of packs of spares.... (there were none last year)....
Sign on the Christmas lights display in my B&Q "If you require spare bulbs - please see a member of staff", Anyway found tucked away in the corner a shelf with bulbs - apparently B&Q are now giving the spare bulbs away for free, unfortunately my Store received a box of bulbs (there was half dozen of golf balls in there) and staff were told - get rid of them......
If you look at the B&Q range this year - it's all LED / Non replaceable = fine before all the carbon friendly say "oh it's better for the environment" - what about all those people that bought lights last year at 75% off that are now f***ed....... or should I say B&Q saying - thats alright - buy another set off us!!! (Mind you considering Homebase are advertising "50%" off already when will they drop to 75%?)
Anyway - if you have bought lights where you can replace the bulbs - might be worth checking your local B&Q for the replacements FREE (I did get 3 packs of bulbs for my daughters pink star lights - got 25 bulbs now - should do her till she's 37!!!!! - she's 3 now!
)

:mad: Where do I get replacement xmas bulbs from......I'm guessing B&Q's answer would be "Buy another tree". My answer would be "Go on Ebay"!
Last year we bought an xmas tree with integral lights from B&Q. Still smitten with last yrs 75% bargain we put the tree up this week for another year only to find some of the bulbs needed replacing. Off we went back to the supplier who we bought the tree only to find that B&Q do not do replacement bulbs. Great.........so now last years 75% purchase doesn't seem that much of a bargain.
BE WARNED.......Don't buy a tree with integral lights from B&Q.
Nice to see that B&Q are getting into the Christmas spirit.......0 -

Looks to me like if you want some spare bulbs you may have to ask the OP as they have loads:rotfl:0 -
Is it just me who is confused by the main point of the OP's post?0

Bah humbug
LED are better anyhow they use less energy and last donkeys years0 -
B&Q are still doing free spare bulbs this year.. so why go and buy them from elsewhere.. if you know the voltage and wattage, you should be able to find something suitable - even if you have to swap bulbholders.. it worked for me on 4 year old tree I had..0

Might have a look - see if i can find my golf ball bulbs (nothing on ebay
)

Was in B&Q today, and they were doing a recall on a 6foot6 tree with built in lights...at the bottom of the page, it said in big letters
STOP USING IMMEDIATELY
Not a fan of integral lights on trees.
Ooooh, Alexandra just won X Factor.
Anyway, LED all the way0
